Istanbul’s Atatürk International Airport ranked the first in Europe for the month of April, with the number of flights and passengers up 19.8 percent when compared to the same period a year ago.
In April, the number of flights and passengers was also up 7.6 percent at Moscow Airport, 4 percent at Barcelona Airport, 2.9 percent at Paris Airport and 2.8 percent at Frankfurt Airport.
Experts say Ataturk International Airport’s performance is particularly successful considering the fact that Europe is currently bogged down in a debt crisis and economic stagnation.
