Accompanied by her three children and a team of helpers, Madonna arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday evening, ahead of her scheduled MDNA world tour concert in front of Turkish fans on Thursday June 7th.
Madonna arrived in Istanbul last night from Abu Dhabi with a crowded entourage and heavy equipment, daily Hürriyet has reported.
Three airplanes carried the pop icon and her 200 person entourage. A red carpet was spread out for the superstar and she was immediately surrounded by heavy security.
Madonna’s plane was originally destined for Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen airport, but plans changed when a special permit was issued for the plane to land at Atatürk Airport.
Madonna arrived at Istanbul airport on the red carpet. Madonna was then picked up in a black SUV and brought her to her hotel Çırağan Palace.
The producers of the show, which will take place in Turk Telecom Arena on Thursday, are keeping the details of the pop queen’s visit under wraps.
Madonna is in Istanbul accompanied by her children – 15-year-old Lourdes, ten-year-old Rocco, and five-year-old David. Her daughter Lourdes will be appearing onstage with her mother as a dancer.
