The Mall of Istanbul project is designed to be a new “life center” for Istanbul. It is planned to be a mixed-use development with retail, residential, office and hotel space, as well as a large entertainment area.
A dynamic 34.5-acre/13.9-hectare multi-use development in Istanbul, Turkey, the Mall of Istanbul combines vibrant contemporary energy with inspired design and mixed-use flair.
The total construction area for the project is 538,885sqm, with planned GLA of 139,500 sqm consisting of 300 retail units and planned GSA of 111,000 sqm, comprised of 86,000 sqm of residential space consisting of 657 residential units and 25,000 sqm of office space.
The mall will also include a four or five star hotel with 300 room capacity and a 37,500 sqm entertainment and catering area, including a 10,000 sqm amusement park, a 1,200 seat multi-purpose auditorium, a 16-screen cinema, and a 7,200 sqm snow park, restaurants and cafes.
Four adjacent residential towers and a hotel tower stand atop landscaped podiums, which connect to the green roof of the mall proper via a series of pedestrian skybridges.
Located 14 miles/23 kilometers west of Istanbul in the Ikitelli district, the Mall of Istanbul presents spectacular exterior graphics and signage and a breathtaking panorama of its signature curvilinear forms and soaring towers. Istiklar Street, a contemporary interpretation of one of Istanbul’s historic streets, is a pedestrian trolley-serviced tree-lined street lined with shops and cafes that curves up 19 feet/six meters and around the east side of the mall, connecting the main arrivals plaza to the roof level’s dining and entertainment features. Aesthetically and architecturally, the Mall is inspired by the layers of culture, design, history, symbols and materials that have evolved over the centuries in this unique Eurasian metropolis.
Three themed courts surround the heart of the project. A central, vertically integrated energized entertainment environment that is an experientially and visually arresting connective hub, with spectacular signage, dramatic lighting and bold, architectural components highlighted by an iconic observation tower. Soaring above the mall, the 328-foot/100-meter tower offers spectacular views of the City and the Bosporus Strait, and is destined to become both a signature element of this exciting project and one of Istanbul’s newest iconic visual landmarks.
