Sunset Istanbul is located on the hills of Ulus and has one of the greatest views of Istanbul, overlooking the Bosphorus.

The food is excellent and a mixture of international cuisine and Turkish dishes. It also has an excellent Sushi Bar attended by Japanese chefs trained in their native homeland. If not ordering from the sushi or sashimi menu, other appetizers include foie gras on mandarin brioche, octopus carpaccio or salmon tartar. Lighter starters include wild mushroom risotto or mixed greens with herbs grown in the on-site garden. Main course is a medley of land and sea with veal chops and grilled T-bone vying with grilled monkfish or lobster linguine. A traditional Turkish menu is also on hand for more-authentic menu options like kebabs or lamb shank and a top international wine list.

Sunset Istanbul offers an enormous outdoor dining roof draped in white triangular canopies that perfectly frame the city skyline and nearby waterfront. Inside, a more sedate setting of floor-to-ceiling glass windows surrounds a lofty dining room with pendant lighting and neutral color scheme or creams and whites. Off the main terrace is a hip bar and large lounge area with candlelit tabletops and barstool seating that captures some of the best upscale singles crowds in the city for weekend live music and midnight mingling.

Longtable Istanbul is designed by local architect Mustafa Toner and is the epitome of modern Istanbul with a slick design which features dark wood and leather seats that give it a grown-up, sexy vibe, with a terrace that makes the most of the balmy summer months.

At the entrance of cristal glasses a Dutch friendly attractive hostess welcomes you from where you will be guided over a catwalk along the longtable to your seat.

Sunset Istanbul is located on the hills of Ulus and has one of the greatest views of Istanbul, overlooking the Bosphorus. The top-rated restaurant has a capacity for 300 diners in summer and 220 in the winter season.

Park Şamdan ranked second on the list.
Park Şamdan is a Nişantaşı classic and has been operating in Istanbul’s Nişantaşı neighborhood since 1982. Park Şamdan has a capacity for 132-persons.

Paper Moon came in third, Paper Moon opened its Istanbul branch since 1997 following Milan and New York. They offer excellent Italian food and service. Papermoon can host 160 guests at one time.

Les Ambassadeurs, which is located inside the Bebek Hotel, ranked fourth on the list. The restaurant has been serving customers at the same location for the past 30 years.

Vogue ranked fifth, the restaurant opened in 1977 and is located inside BJK Plaza in Istanbul’s Akaretler area. Bebek Balıkçısı, a favorite for seafood since it first opened its doors in 1998, ranked sixth.

Another all-time favorite for businesspeople is the Borsa branch in Istinye Park, a fairly new hot-spot for shopping enthusiasts. Borsa’s İstinye Park branch entered the top-10 list at number seven.

Ulus 29, a restaurant located in Istanbul’s Ulus district and overlooking both bridges crossing the Bosphorus, ranked eighth, while Şans in Etiler ranked ninth and Maçka Brasserie in Nişantaşı rounded out the top 10.

The top 10 restaurants were chosen by a 10-person jury that included Kemal Aksel, the founder of the Culinary Arts Academy; Ceyda Aydede, the chairwoman of human-resources firm Global Tanıtım; Burak Başarır, the Turkey regional director for Coca Cola; Osman Dinçbaş, the Turkey managing director for Ernst&Young, and Emin Hitay, the chairman of the board of Hitay Investment Company.
