Car lovers will descend in Istanbul today for the 2012 International Istanbul Auto show.
Over 500 new domestic and imported vehicles are on display, as well as an array of concept cars at TUYAP Beylikduzu between 2nd and 11th November, 2012.
French Citroen, Peugeot and Renault pick Istanbul Autoshow 2012 to present a total of four 2013 models. Some 45 firms participate in the event.
The 2013 models of Citroen C-Elysee, Peugeot 301, Renault Symbol and Renault Fluence were presented to the world on the first day of the event, with more than 600,000 people expected to attend.
The Fluence will make its debut at the Istanbul Auto Show, where it will show up powered by a new 1.6 16V 115 petrol engine mated to the new X-Tronic CVT automatic transmission. Production of the “new” Fluence will start at the Oyak-Renault factory in Bursa, Turkey, and sales begin in Turkey in January 2013.
The Turkish automotive sector’s biggest event, the “Istanbul Autoshow” began yesterday with the global launch of four French cars.
Nearly 500 models of 45 auto brands will also be on display at the auto show until November 11.
Honda’s Turkey CEO Hideto Yamasaki told the Hurriyet Daily News that Turkey was one of greatest countries in the European and global automotive sectors.
The International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’ (OICA) head Patrick Blain also praised Turkey’s growing automotive sector. “Turkey is one of the most important players in the sector with its geographical position and competitive trade capacity.
