Akmerkez commomerates Atatürk with his favorite songs

Akmerkez will commerate the Great Leader Atatürk along with its visitors with a concert entitled “The favorite songs of Atatürk,” which is to be presented as part of Atatürk Memorial Day on November 10th.

The Istanbul’un Altınları (Istanbul Gold) band, composed of six female solists from the TRT network (state television network), will take to the stage and sing classical Turkish songs that Atatürk was particularly fond of. The band’s soloist, Meral Azizoğlu, also sang his favorite songs in the movie “Veda,” (Farewell) which was directed by Zülfü Livaneli. The İstanbul’un Altınları will be joined by the Grup Pandora orchestra at the concert. This special event will bring Turkish and Western instruments together including the zither, tamboura, kamancha, cello, bass, and violin.

This commemorative concert will be held at Akmerkez in two separate sessions beginning at 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm in the Akmerkez Event Area on the ground floor .

In addition, a Turkish flag created using digital effects will fly on the two towers and on the front of Akmerkez until the evening of November 10th.

Special event for children on Novembr 10th

A special event will also be held for children as part of Atatük Memorial Day. Children will make frames for Atatürk-themed post cards between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm in the event area on the food court level.
