Cezayir istanbul is located in Beyoglu behind the famous Galatasaray High School, housed in a fabulous historic building which was constructed in 1901 as a school, for the Italian Workers’ Association.
Cezayir Restaurant, which has been located in this building since its renovation in 2005, and has been beautifully converted into a glamorous bar and restaurant and lounge bar with large mirrors and sofas. Also there is a garden with mature trees at the back that opens on to the twee restaurants of French Street.
Cezayir has a warm atmosphere with a stunning baroque silver and white dining room. The back room, with original floor tiles, soaring ceilings and a long wooden bar, is a stylish place for sharing some of the most inventive meze in Istanbul.
Star Dish: Hamsi ceviche brings South America to the Black Sea. The small fish, popular in northern Turkey’s coastal cooking, is marinated in lime, ginger and coriander.
