Zorlu Property Group was in the limelight of foreign investors at MIPIM 2013; the leading real estate event held in Cannes, France on March 12th-15th. This year, MIPIM holds particular significance for Zorlu Property Group. Besides Turkey being the guest country of honor, the event will coincide with the opening of Zorlu Property Group’s most remarkable project. A Valued Project at the Crossroads of the Asian and European Continents: Zorlu Center
Established on Istanbul’s most valuable property, state land in Zincirlikuyu, Zorlu Property Group aims to create a new attraction center in the heart of Istanbul with the development of Turkey’s first five functions “mixed use” project, Zorlu Center.
Located at the crossroads of the Asian and European continents overlooking the Istanbul Bosporus, Princess islands, historic peninsula and adding value to Istanbul, Zorlu Center project began with the purchase of the property in 2007 for a total of $800m. It is designed by the joint venture firm of the Ağa Han architecture award-winning celebrated Turkish architect Emre Arolat (Emre Arolat Architects) and Turkish architect Murat Tabanlıoğlu (Tabanlıoğlu Architects), who has attracted great attention by being chosen as the best architect in the Middle East.
In collaboration with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality; Zorlu Property Group, operating with a sense of responsibility for the environment and Istanbul, is also carrying out the construction of the access tunnels with a total length of 770 meters which will provide a safe and convenient access for pedestrians to Zorlu Center. Zorlu Center will become an ‘international attraction center’ with the best view of Bosporus and its 72.000 m² green areas. The project is planned to be opened with all its components in Q3 2013.
Zorlu Center’s Performing Arts Center Prepares to Raise the Curtain as The New Address for Broadway Shows in Europe
When developing Zorlu Center project, it was identified that one of Istanbul’s greatest needs was a space in which cultural-arts events could be realized. Developed in order to host various art disciplines, the multi-purpose Performing Arts Center was given an important place within Zorlu Center.
The 50.000 sqm Performing Arts Center can accommodate up to 3.070 spectators, which will be Turkey’s largest center for the performing arts. Following its opening, it will play host to various art performances such as world renowned musicals, concerts, theater and dance performances, art exhibitions and events. Featuring a main performance hall specifically designed for high-energy, amplified performances that can accommodate up to 2,300 spectators, as well as a 770 person hall featuring natural acoustics, the center will bring world-famous performances to İstanbul.
Performing Arts Center, which will feature the world premiere of musicals and performances that have run in London – West End and New York – Broadway and which is being built with an investment of $300m. Performing Arts Center will be operated by Nederlander which celebrates its 100th anniversary
Zorlu Center Will House World’s “Premium Luxury” Brand Raffles Hotel
Getting ready to house the world’s renowned brands, Zorlu Center has chosen to work with the “premium luxury” hotel brand Raffles Hotel & Resorts. Investing $250m on top of the investment made on the property, Raffles Istanbul Zorlu Center aims to realize the “Business & Leisure” concept, preserving its traditional characteristics as in other hotels of the brand while reflecting Istanbul’s historical and quintessential attributes.
Raffles Istanbul Zorlu Center boasts a total of 184 rooms, each of them with a different design, comprising 136 standard rooms, 47 suites, and one Presidential Suite. The rooms are larger than average, enabling guests to relax and enjoy the unrivalled beauty of Istanbul in comfort and luxury. The interior architecture will be designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), the group responsible for world renowned hotel interior designs such as The Ritz Carlton Dubai, Mandarin Oriental New York and the Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta.

With its planned concept, Zorlu Center Shopping Mall will become Istanbul’s new flavor and fashion focal point.
