Istanbul to host the city’s first Russian Culture Festival

Istanbul is preparing to host the city’s first Russian Culture Festival. The festival, which is set to take place from April 15 to 21, aims to promote Russian culture and improve relations between Turkish and Russian people.

The biggest Russian dance company, the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble, will perform at the event. Other events on the agenda include a theater competition and a photography exhibition, opera and fashion shows, concerts as well as fairs and symposiums.

Some of the most memorable masterpieces of Russian cinema, including “The Battleship Potemkin,” which was named the best film of all time, will also be shown as part of the festival.

The venues of the festival will be Istanbul Congress Center, Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall, Üsküdar Tekel Stage, Istanbul University, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Faculty, Beyoğlu Municipality Art Gallery and a number of other spots in the Taksim neighborhood.
