Jamie Oliver to open first restaurant in Istanbul

Jamie Oliver is to launch his first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Istanbul this spring.

Jamie’s Italian – a restaurant complete with a pasta bar and mezzanine – will be located at the new Zorlu Center, Beşiktaş. Guests will have the opportunity to relax, share good times and enjoy beautiful Italian food.

Jamie’s Italian was founded in Oxford just four years ago. Since then it has grown to more than 30 restaurants worldwide, and there are already plans for even more in new towns, counties and continents around the world.

Jamie’s Italian, Istanbul (the first in Turkey) will be in the safe hands of Kaya Demirer, the man behind some of Istanbul’s most innovative restaurants.

The celebrity TV chef has always had a passion for Italian food and established the first Jamie’s Italian with the aim of sharing everything he knew about his favorite cuisine with the rest of the world, “the fresh, locally sourced ingredients; the bold and simple flavors; and the relaxed way of sharing dishes.” Rather than focusing on fine dining, he wanted to reflect the passionate, humble and sociable attitude of Italians towards food.

This simple formula results in authentic and original dishes that you won’t find on the menu of most Italian restaurants such as: Wild Rabbit Tagliolini; Pumpkin and Squash Gnudi; and Orange, Fennel and Bocconcini Salad – all at very affordable prices.

Jamie’s Italian was founded in Oxford just four years ago. Since then it has grown to more than 30 restaurants worldwide, and already have partnerships in place in Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, The Republic of Ireland, Russia and Singapore. There are already plans for even more in new towns, counties and continents around the world.
