Jamiroquai cancels Istanbul concert

Jamiroquai had to cancel two shows in Turkey and Bulgaria on doctor’s orders, the band announced on its official website Friday.

Jamiroquai would come to Istanbul for a performance on June 26 at Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena in Istanbul as part of their Rock Dust Light Star tour.

The statement from the band’s site read:

“Jamiroquai have had to cancel two shows in Bulgaria and Turkey this weekend on doctor’s orders as lead singer Jay Kay has severely sprained his right ankle. Jay Kay sent his apologies to fans and said he hopes to reschedule the shows soon.”

Jamiroquai has his big breakthrough in the early 90s with a very danceable mix of jazzy and funky popmusic. Worldwide, the British band sold over 25 million albums and the new album – their seventh studio album – will certainly add some more to that number.

From all your Turkish fans – we wish you fast recovery, take care!
