Pop glitter queen Ke$ha is coming to Istanbul to perform at Vodafone İstanbul Calling and will meet fans on 21st of July Sunday night at the Parkorman stage. Capturing a sudden rise with her first single “Tik Tok” and reaching number 1 in 11 countries, popstar Kesha is a name that accomplished to combine R&B, pop and hip hop sounds with her crazy style and energetic performance.
Vodafone Istanbul Calling is preparing to become one of Istanbul’s biggest festival held for 3 months throughout the summer of 2013. Sponsored by Vodafone and Garanti Bank, the festival will host numerous foreign and local stars in different venues throughout Istanbul. This festival will become the music hotspot for all genres.
The artist, we know from her debut single “Tik Tok”, Kesha (Kesha Rose Sebert) is full of energy and a driven pop singer/songwriter born on March 1987 in Los Angeles but moved at the age of four to Nashville. Before finishing high school, Kesha returned to L.A. for the sake of jump-starting her own music career. She came into contact with Dr. Luke, the co-writer and co-producer of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” (among several other hits), who was impressed with her demo recordings. The biggest turning point came in 2009, when she was asked to contribute vocals on Flo Rida’s Dr. Luke-produced “Right Round,” a number one Hot 100 hit.
Her debut single “Tik Tok”, released in late 2009, reached number one in eleven countries. Her debut album, Animal, was released in January 2010 and debuted at number one in the US, Canada and Greece. By September 2010, Kesha had sold two million albums worldwide and released three more top ten singles from Animal. The album was re-released with a companion extended play, Cannibal, in November, preceded by the chart-topping lead single, “We R Who We R”.
With her dramatic and messy look, alot of young girls look up to Kesha’s unique style. She’s different and she calls her style “garbage-chic”.
