American pop diva Lady Gaga is in Istanbul for her 2014 world tour, “ArtRave: The Artpop Ball,” and promises to be a REAL party, and an experience not to miss.
Gaga arrived at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport September 14 for her concert at the ITÜ Stadium
on September 16. She was welcomed with great enthusiasm and tears at the airport, where she posed with her Turkish fans before heading to her hotel. Lady Gaga is staying in Istanbul at the new Raffles Istanbul in Zorlu Center.
Gaga posted on her instagram that her suite in Istanbul is amazing and that she is feeling like a princess.
My suite in Istanbul is simply sensational. Incredible space, design, views and luxury. Look at this chocolate wheel, grand piano and flowers. I’ll be writing some songs while I’m here!
They even left a sweet note for Miss Asia, next to a beautiful puppy bed, food and silver bowls. Ultimate elegance, a million thank yous I feel like a princess.
The American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga, widely regarded as the natural heir to Madonna’s Queen of Pop throne, hit the stage in Istanbul for her first performance in Turkey on September 16.
The concert kicked off the Grammy award-winning singer’s European leg of her tour, backed up by a 144-member team consisting of dancers, creative directors, stylists and technicians.
Starting on time at 9 p.m., Istanbul Technical University’s stadium hosted thousands of delirious Gaga fans, who created a feverish atmosphere to welcome the megastar.
Gaga changed more than five outfits during her performance, and also took off her dress on stage just before singing one of her most well-known hits “Bad Romance.”
Gaga performed a kind of “greatest hits” set including “Alejandro,” “Applause,” “Poker Face,” “Born This Way” and “G.U.Y.” Since her first album was released in 2008, Lady Gaga has won countless awards for her work.
Addressing her fans in Turkish, Gaga said: “Sizi seviyorum” (I love you), and particularly praised her transsexual fans. “I travel all over the world. Believe me, it is really hard to be gay. Be proud of yourself, it is no matter what you are. He [God] loves all of you,” she said.
The Istanbul concert kicks off the European leg of the Grammy award-winning singer’s tour titled, “ArtRAVE: the ARTPOP ball. The tour takes her to North America, Europe and Asia to promote her third album, “Artpop,” which was released in 2013.
The 28-year-old singer, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, will perform 78 concerts in 68 cities during her tour, which began on May 4 and will end on Nov. 10. She is accompanied by a 144-member team of dancers, creative directors, stylists and technicians.
Gaga toured the Bosphorus on a yacht during her visit, with Haus of Gaga, A family affair.
Gaga will perform her most popular songs from recent few years, including “Alejandro,” “Bad Romance,” “Poker Face,” “Born This Way” and “G.U.Y.”
Lady Gaga’s 2014 world tour officially started on May 4 in Florida, and will make stops in Japan and Australia before touching down in Istanbul.
The concert at Istanbul Technical University Stadium will be the tour’s first stop of many in Europe, not to mention a big night for local youngsters, for whom it will be their first opportunity to see the much loved American pop star perform in Istanbul, Lady Gaga will then head on to Athens for a September 19 concert.
