Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion to play in Istanbul

Hip-Hop legend Snoop Lion- formerly known as Snoop Dogg will be dropping it like it’s hot this summer when he will perform in Istanbul to play at the Urban & Hip-Hop Day on July 07, 2013 at BJK İnönü Stadium. Meeting Turkish fans for the first time with Vodafone Istanbul Calling priviledge, Snoop Dogg is preparing for the performance of a lifetime.

Vodafone Istanbul Calling is preparing to become one of Istanbul’s biggest festival held for 3 months throughout the summer of 2013. Sponsored by Vodafone and Garanti Bank, the festival will host numerous foreign and local stars in different venues throughout Istanbul. This festival will become the music hotspot for all genres.

SNOOP DOG: 12 awards and more than 40 nominations for the Pop Culture phenomenon, also a hip hop artist from a West Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg (recently reborn as Snoop Lion) became the most famous star in rap, because of his drawled and laconic style. While he’s a rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer, TV and movie star, the founder and coach of a hugely successful youth football league and a savvy adapter of new technology, Snoop Dogg remains Tha Doggfather of hip-hop.

Nicknamed Snoop by his mother because of his appearance, Calvin Broadus (born October 20, 1972) was raised in Long Beach, CA. He found escape from a life of crime through music. Snoop began recording homemade tapes with his friend Warren G, who happened to be the stepbrother of N.W.A.’s Dr. Dre. Warren G gave a tape to Dre, who was considerably impressed with Snoop’s style and began collaborating with the rapper.
He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide with a total of 35 album releases, and Doggystyle is generally considered Snoop Dogg’s best record, in addition to being his highest charting and best-selling album. In 2011, he released Doggumentary, an album he considered the sequel to his classic debut. The album featured production from the likes of Swizz Beats, DJ Khalil, and Scott Storch, while guest artists included Kanye West, John Legend, Wiz Khalifa, and Willie Nelson. One of the most memorable performances of Snoop Dogg was at Coachella 2012, where he rapped together with the hologram of 2Pac.

Cee Lo Green (born Thomas Calloway on May 30, 1974) is an American hip-hop/funk/soul and R&B musician. He is a singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer, best known as a member of Gnarls Barkley, Goodie Mob, and Dungeon Family. Multi-talented Cee Lo Green initially made a name for himself as part of Dirty South rappers Goodie Mob before he broke away in the early 2000s for a colorful solo route.
In 2006, Cee Lo enjoyed some of his greatest success as half of Gnarls Barkley. “Crazy,” the lead single from ”St. Elsewhere”, the duo’s debut album, was an instant hit in the U.K. and steadily rose to number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 by the end of the summer.

Born Nasir Jones, son of jazz musician Olu Dara, Nas dropped out of school in the eighth grade, trading classrooms for the streets of the rough Queensbridge projects. Despite dropping out of school, Nas developed a high degree of literacy that would later characterize his rhymes. At the same time, his lifestyle and experiences also characterized his rhymes. Beginning with his classic debut,” Illmatic” (1994), Nas stood tall for years as one of New York City’s leading rap voices, outspokenly expressing a righteous, self-empowered swagger that endeared him to critics and hip-hop purists.
