Fishermen’s city Istanbul became the billionaire city. After 2001 crisis the amount of billionaires increased in Istanbul. With 36 billionaires, Istanbul is the 4th richest city in the world.

Major cities of the world seem to either attract billionaires to live, or make them billionaires because they are major cities!.

The richest Turks are worth $112 bln together, according to a study by Forbes. The number of Turkish billionaires increased to 36 from 23 in 2007. Turkey’s richest person is Mehmet Emin Karamehmet, owner of Cukurova Holding. He is owning the biggest mobile phone company in Turkey and has an estimated wealth of $4.3 billion. Next on the list is Sarik Tara, owner of a big construction company. followed by Husnu Ozyegin who has $4 billion. The top position fluctuates because of the stock market.

Not only have they become the richest men in their countries; they are among the wealthiest in the world. Getting to the top is not so easy, but staying there is even more difficult.
